Product Description

by Lorna Reeves (Author)

Tea sandwiches and afternoon tea are seemingly synonymous with one another, as it's almost impossible to think about one without the other. However, those perfectly uniform bites with a delicious filling aren't the only food items that belong in the savories course at teatime. There's a whole world of delectable splendor within the confines of the savory category.

Teatime Savories provide a lovely respite when paired with a beloved brew, and this compilation of favorite recipes from the pages of TeaTime magazine is a well-rounded guide to the perfect accompaniment for afternoon tea. In this book, you'll find classic and unique savories of all kinds--from tea sandwiches, canapés, and quiches to tartlets, soups, and more--destined to become new favorites in your ever-growing tea repertoire.Whether you want to make a bounty of refreshing and pretty cucumber canapés for your next event or simply wish to have a tasty sandwich laden with salmon or chicken salad for lunch, you can't go wrong with the time-honored recipes in this comprehensive volume.

Author Biography

Lorna Reeves was introduced to the pleasures of afternoon tea at the Williamsburg Inn many years ago, and it wasn't long before tea drinking became an essential part her daily routine. She began her career at Hoffman Media, publisher of TeaTime, in 1991. In addition to serving as editor of the award-winning TeaTime magazine, Lorna has had the pleasure of editing many afternoon tea-themed books, including Come for Tea: Favorite Recipes for Scones, Savories, and Sweets, as well as Jane Pettigrew's World of Tea: Discovering Producing Regions and Their Teas, which won the World Tea Award for Best Tea Publication. Lorna has been a panelist and a panel moderator at World Tea Expo and speaks at tea festivals throughout the United States and Canada. While Lorna has studied with World Tea Academy and the Specialty Tea Institute, her travels to tea estates in Sri Lanka and India have given her new appreciation for the marvelous beverage and those who produce it. She lives in Birmingham, Alabama.
