This easy to follow workbook helps participants assess and improve team leadership skills, knowledge, and abilities. Developed by experts on leadership and team performance, Drs. Anna and Chris Kayes, the booklet utilizes a unique approach to team leadership based on continuous learning. Leadership plays a critical role in team performance. Leadership creates the overall tone of the team, motivates members and sets general direction. The most important part of leadership, however, involves helping team members learn to be more effective contributors to the team. This questionnaire will help you: 1) assess your knowledge, skills and abilities as a team leader and 2) continue to improve your team's effectiveness. The Team Leadership Questionnaire (TLQ) helps team leaders assess their own beliefs and behaviors in teams. This booklet also provides a comprehensive study guide to improving team leadership skills and producing more effective teams. The TLQ provides a comprehensive view of team leadership based on years of research and consulting with hundreds of teams. The TLQ will help you as a team leader by: -Increasing your understanding of how teams work -Coordinating the various components that, when taken together, constitute team effectiveness -Developing skills that improve your ability to lead a team -Improving skills of your team members The TLQ focuses on how leaders act and perceive their actions in a team environment. Knowing more about your perceived strengths and weaknesses will improve your ability to lead a team in: - Solving problems - Learning from errors and mistakes - Setting goals - Building trust among members - Drawing on the strengths of individual team members - Coordinating knowledge and actions between team members By completing this booklet, you will identify and evaluate yourself on eight areas of team leadership. Five of these areas focus on the type of team culture you build including: Psychological Safety, Interpersonal Understanding, Roles, Goals, and Confidence. Three behaviors relate to learning include: Coordinating, Adapting, and Continuous Improvement.
