Prior to his calling there, he was Director of Ministry Resources for Stephen's Ministry, St. Louis, Missouri. He has served other congregations in Nebraska and was a missionary to Japan for seven years. While serving as Pioneer Evangelist in Tokyo and Sapporo, he helped establish Shin-Sapporo Lutheran Church.
