Product Description

by Jamiatul Ulama Talim South Africa (Kzn) (Author)

Tajwid means to beautify or to do well. However, in regards to the recitation of the Qur'an it means, "To pronounce every letter correctly from its exact point of origin together with all its qualities, and to know where and how to stop."Tajwid does not mean to recite the Qur'an in a beautiful voice while disregarding the rules of recitation.
The importance of Tajwid (correct recitation) can not be sufficiently emphasised.
The word "Tartil" has been translated as slow, measured tones. It has been further explained by Ali( R.A) to mean "the correct pronunciation of the letters and the understanding of the breaks." It is from this that the given meaning of Tajwid is derived.
Further to that one must remember that reciting the Qur'an has been deemed necessary by all for a very important reason. The Qur'an as the Word of God is absolute. It thus stands to reason that if the Word of God is to be read in a way that its meaning is altered, then it cannot be attributed to God. If one believes that if what one is incorrectly reading is what Allah has revealed, then one is wrongfully attributing such a thing to Him.
All praise is due to Allah Ta'ala, The Supreme Master of all the worlds. Countless Durood and Salaam be upon our beloved Nabi, Sayyidina Muhammad( PBUH ).
