Yellow smoke from the industrial giants settles on the surrounding neighborhoods. Vince knows there is more to life than 12 hours building tires or helping his parents save their struggling grocery store.

When Vince was fifteen, he first saw the most beautiful woman in the world. Kate Bonner was married to the son of the most prominent businessman in the city, He didn't dare approach her, but he knew someday she would change his life.

It was 1939, three years later. A chance meeting in a movie theater brought them together. There was a bolt of lightning, a clap of thunder and sudden downpour as they walked from the theater.
