Product Description

by Christine Ann Caccamo (Author)

Vincent Terrazzo is an idealistic young man living in Akron, Ohio in the late 1930's. While war threatens Europe and would soon overtake America, Vince tries to hold on to the beauty in the world, worrying someday he will have to fight and kill. A life of beauty, peace and love has often been hard for him to imagine, living in a poor, industrial city. Immigrants have settled in Akron for years, working in the big four rubber companies, Goodyear, Firestone, Goodrich and General. Yellow smoke from the industrial giants settles on the surrounding neighborhoods. Vince knows there is more to life than 12 hours building tires or helping his parents save their struggling grocery store.

When Vince was fifteen, he first saw the most beautiful woman in the world. Kate Bonner was married to the son of the most prominent businessman in the city, He didn't dare approach her, but he knew someday she would change his life.

It was 1939, three years later. A chance meeting in a movie theater brought them together. There was a bolt of lightning, a clap of thunder and sudden downpour as they walked from the theater. They both knew a bond was formed between them that could never be broken, no matter what adversities they were to face. Not only was Kate stunning, but she was also smart, funny and unbelievably strong.

As Vince feared, the second World War pulls him away and leaves him fighting in some of the worst battles in Europe.
Will their love survive this latest challenge? Will their happy ending come true?
