Product Description

by Kwaku Ahenkora Phd (Author)

Strategic management concepts were developed primarily for private business purposes but are now an expectation for public and social sector organisations as well. But should they become one-size fits-all prescription? This important and timely book provides fundamental perspectives on how the distinctive nature and central role of purpose in Christian organisations create multifaceted value and conceptions different from those of business organisations. This book is an essential read for students, academics and managers on strategic management, particularly of social enterprises. The context-specific information is of immense value as theories and concepts from various disciplines have expanded the knowledge base of the dynamic field of strategic management. Additionally, the development of contextual insights into strategic management would minimise the allergy that some Christian leaders and managers have from management concepts and also clarify the extent to which non-profit organisations can use concepts and tools developed for the business world.
