He slid a business card across the desk. There was a printed seal and the words Department of State and Office of Intelligence Research. Underneath was his name, Mr. Daniel Morgan, and a phone number in Washington, D.C. I rotated the card to face me and carefully centered it on my desk in front of me.
"So what does the Bureau want with me?"
"We have a job for you." His voice had become clipped and tense again, all comfort dissipated.

Operation Paperclip is in full swing, and scientists from Nazi Germany are developing weapons for the US. But somebody is leaking project secrets to the Soviets. Dot Stone must go undercover to root out the spy, knowing that exposure would make her a target for deadly Soviet agents. The investigation quickly escalates into blackmail, kidnapping, and murder, and Dot can trust nobody except her partner Joy.
