Product Description

by Ron Sears (Author)

It has been around for centuries. Indications are that it began as an argument in the second century of church history. It has been debated; accepted; rejected; called fundamental to soteriology; and heresy. Some ministers gathered a following, while others have been removed because of their adherence to this subject. It is becoming a major focal point of biblical truth in the world today. Some say that it will truly change the face of the church moving forward into culture. There must be a final authority for all held truth. The scientist looks to nature. The Christian (conservative) looks to the Bible which is believed to reveal the truth as determined by God. As a result, the scientist should not interpret nature by his pre-held beliefs. Nature leads the man of science into believing the truth. As with developing a system of theology, the Bible reveals the accuracy of held opinions. The Bible is the test of belief - never the reverse. Confusion will result if we interpret the Bible through our philosophy. So it begs the question: Does it matter what one believes about the doctrines of Heaven; Hell; God's wrath; whether God eternally pursues humanity; is there an end to accepting His grace; is one born again as a result of the faith of Christ alone; and are we given opportunity to respond to God's grace after death? What are the ramifications of God's reconciliation and forgiveness? Is it universal? If it is, does it apply universally to all humans? Author and Pastor Ron Sears tackles this controversial and polarizing subject with patience, attention to detail, and compassion.

Author Biography

Ron Sears was reared in a pastor's home with the truth of God being prevalent. As a result the things of God became common to him. While in college Ron met and married his best friend, Marilyn. Together they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. God has used the realities of this life to show Ron the necessity of truth, faith, and relationship with the eternal. And he has become a student of God and His revealed truth - realizing the things of God are not common. The book you are reading is a look into a portion of our uncommon God. It is written for those who, like Ron, are the average learner with a passion to find truth.
