Author Biography

Anita Hymes Autobiography Anita Hymes the author of Soulfulness of a Gullah Girl and "Flowing Passion." She is a native of John's Island SC, a small Island off the coast of Charleston SC on the Sea Islands. Born and raised in a loving Christian family with a strong faith in God. Grew up in an environment rich with culture surrounded by the Gullah people and speaking the "Gullah" dialect. A preacher's daughter and proud mother of a grown son who motivates and inspires her every day... Mr. Kirkland Grant Jr. Graduate of Winthrop University. Story Teller, Founder of SIS - Sisters Inspiring Sister, and owner of "A Gullah Girl Boutique" are some of her accomplishments. She is a (DOD) Department Of Defense employee where she serves and provides services for Military Families, Children, and Youth as a Program Director. With her job, she was blessed to have had the opportunity to live and travel throughout Asia and Europe. These exciting opportunities and diverse experiences opened her eyes to new ideas and customs. All of her new experiences were learning lessons that motivated her to write poems. She gets her inspiration from faith and life experiences. Every poem that she write stirs her passion and touches her soul. It broadens her creativity and imagination. She writes to create her mind and to heal her soul. Writing is truly healing to her soul!
