Product Description

by L. F. Peterson (Author)

The purpose of this cookbook is to help our teens and young adults to build a strong foundation for survival in cooking. We have young mothers who need to learn to cook for their babies. The food should be made as healthy as possible. I have compiled this cookbook with recipes for dishes that are enjoyable, delicious, and nutritious. The directions are easy and simple to follow. Some may require a little more time for preparation, but they are inexpensive to make. It is essential that we encourage our teens to get an early start in the kitchen and our young adults to become better cooks. "Choosing the right ingredients makes a good dish." "Mixing the right things together in life makes a better person."

Author Biography

I was the first born of five siblings. My mother worked two jobs, when left alone to raise five (5) children. My mother started me in the kitchen when I was 12-13. When she couldn't be home, because of work, my grandmother would let me go in the kitchen with her and show me how to make biscuits, greens and cook chicken different ways. My brother would eat anything I would cook. I love him for that. Today we have mothers that work two jobs and can't spend much time in the kitchen I am here to offer those teens and young adults a chance to start learning to cook. Some of these recipes are from my mother and grandmother. I just hope to think I have made them a little more nutritious. My aim is to please you with soul food cooking and hope that someday I will be teaching that class to teens and young adults that are interested in eating what you like to eat, but made a bit more nutritious. I invite everyone to try my soul food cooking.
