A.J. Howard was born in Toccoa, GA, to lovely parents who happened to be separated as partners for the majority of his life. His paternal side of the family experienced ongoing conflict with the criminal justice system, which could've easily steered his upbringing. However, that wasn't the case. His father stirred him to change the trajectory of the family name and achieve greatness instead. Sports were A.J.'s first love and outlet. He was committed to football and serving others above all other activities. He went on to join the Army and play Division-1 football at the United States Military Academy at West Point. The rest is history-here, for the first time, A.J. tells us how it happened in a memoir he dedicates to anyone who believes they can't accomplish anything they set their mind to.
