From dealing with roommate issues to picking a major, "So You're Going to College" gives students and parents a glimpse into the university world from the perspective of a recent grad who shares his tips, regrets, and lessons-learned in a brief, honest way to give new students the information they need to make the most of their college experience.
Author Biography
After graduating from American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida, I enrolled in Boston University's College of Communication to study journalism. Four years later, I graduated from BU with a major in Film and Television and a minor in History. During my undergraduate years, I worked for the Office of Orientation as a Student Advisor for incoming students. I served as a program coordinator for the Community Service Center and lead students on community outreach projects around the city of Boston. Additionally, I worked at BU's Fitness and Recreation Center for three and a half years as a Facilities Coordinator. I also spoke to prospective students and parents at events organized by the Office of Admissions. After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles and worked for two years in the television industry, but after a change of heart, I returned to Boston, where I currently reside. I got my Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, and currently am the Assistant Director for Boston University's Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground, the student center responsible for building unity and community across campus through recurring programs and special events. I am a proud member of the Scarlet Key Society that honors those who have made outstanding contributions to Boston University.
