Author Biography

New Jersey native Carmelo "Snow" Sigona began his artistic journey as a student and creator of graffiti and street art in the late 1970's. Born and raised in the greater NYC area, Snow now has an immense and prolific body of work that spans almost four decades. His early days were spent traversing the urban landscapes of the Northeast and beyond, honing his street art skills and developing a distinct style. He quickly established his name and style through constantly innovating and pushing the limits of his versatility and imagination. The 1990's were the catalyst for many of Snow's famous creative exploits. During this time, Snow became a member of the Bronx-based but internationally renowned FX Crew. An all-star squad of elite graffiti and street artists. Together they created some of the most distinguished mural installations in the history of the urban arts. This allowed him to travel and connect with artists from around the globe, building a network of contemporaries that he still enjoys painting with today. Snow started to become more heavily immersed in the art and gallery scene. Also at this time, Snow was also recruited to become a part of the creative team of artists and designers at McFarlane Toys. Todd McFarlane created a well-known comic book, animation, and movie hero: Spawn. His years there were spent studying set design, model making, and fabrication. He also spent several years in marketing for the Fortune 500 Corporation, Dun and Bradstreet. The combination of marketing and licensing would prove to be invaluable assets added to Snow's growing artistic and creative repository. Through all these experiences in the art and entertainment arenas, Snow eventually became a highly sought after artist and creative director for some high profile musical artists. He worked with Will Smith, Wu Tang Clan, Gangsterr, Mobb Deep, Lil Kim, and Chris Brown. He was also commissioned by MLB's Carlos Beltran and NJ Devils' Ken Daneyko. Companies like Casio Corp., Holiday Inn, Superior Bank, and Sony BMG were commissioning Snow's mural installation talents. In 2009 he co-founded Fly Dragon Studio, a development studio created to bring to fruition his multi-platform, intellectual property: Tales from the Mist A hip hop fantasy world. Snow currently oversees the further development and launch of that property, along with the managing of his own brand: Art of Snowone
