Product Description

by Georgette Heyer (Author)

One of Georgette Heyer's first published works was "Simon the Coldheart." Early in the 15th century, at the height of the Hundred Years' War, England and France were at war with one another over control of France. Hand-to-hand fighting, the development of the longbow, and actual knights in armour all occurred during this period. Geoffrey of Malvallet's illegitimate son Simon Beauvallet was born in 1386. He and his half-brother, the legal son and heir of his father, joined the Prince in fighting France after the death of his mother in 1400. Simon was dubbed "the Coldheart" and was known for his quietness, but he had a complex and deep personality and adored children.
