Product Description

by Cecilia A. Gruessing (Author)

"Si Dios Quiere" (God Willing) is a bilingual musical story about an American choreographer, Cecilia Diaz, and her struggle to secure custody and U.S. visas for three Honduran orphan sisters whom she discovers in a box on the street in 2003. The narrative is presented in a theatrical format and initially depicts their life in an orphanage, eventually evolving into their journey as a growing family with Ceci in La Ceiba, where they navigate the traditions and challenges of tropical Honduran culture.

The story includes flashbacks to ancient ceremonies in a mystical place called "La Ciudad Blanca," located deep in the Mosquitia region of Honduras, where indigenous ancestors convene in spirit to discuss the orphan crisis within Latino society.

In a miraculous turn of events, they all legally cross the U.S. border in 2013 to live in Cecilia's mother's family home in Virginia. Here, they are given a genuine opportunity to become successful citizens and contribute their resilient characters and future potential to a multicultural America.
