God declared, in Genesis 2:18, "It is not good that the man should be alone: I will make him an help meet for him." God then uniquely created the woman from the man, for the man-"for his good." In Proverbs 31, King Lemuel's mother counseled her son concerning finding the wife who would "do good" for him. She said that this woman would be more valuable than any earthly treasures he might ever obtain (v. 10), that he would be able to safely trust in her (v. 11), and that she would do "good for him, and not evil" all the days of her life (v. 12). He would be so pleased with her that he would declare her to be the greatest woman of all (v. 29)
Author Biography
Rosanne Surrett holds the B.A. degree from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, and has assisted her husband in the ministry since their marriage in 1965. She teaches part-time at Ambassador Baptist College and also teaches the ladies' Sunday School class at Emmanuel Baptist Church. She has spoken at ladies' retreats, banquets, etc., and has authored her own material for the Help Meet class at Ambassador Baptist College. The Surretts have five children and twenty grandchildren.
