Product Description

by Edsel Ward (Author)

Continuation of a personal odyssey on a shared motor scooter, by two young men in 1960, which began in what was then, Ceylon travelling across Asia to Istanbul ... This story picks up from there, to follow their travels from Turkey, across northern Europe in the early days of the Cold War, up into Scandania; then finally the Low Countries and into to France, where the scooter breathed its last. Their journey, with scooter transported by rail to London, finished in an exploration there, of the UK from top to bottom by one of the duo and finally the return of all three of them, motor scooter included, back by ship to Australia. It was an epic journey, equivalent to circumnavigating the globe at the equator, in a time half a century ago, so different a place to the present ... and it happened.
