Product Description

by John Julius Candelaria (Illustrator), John Julius Candelaria (Author)

A woman, Sara from the 17th Century appears from out of the night outside a convenience store in the 21st Century. She draws the attention of a man, Paul standing at the register. He goes outside to investigate. Sara pleads for Paul to take her to his home because she is lost. When they arrive at Paul's home Sara relates a tangled tale about being rescued by a star of Orion just as she was about to be set afire by townspeople, believing Sara was a witch, at the American Colony of Plymouth in 1609. Sara relates another predicament about her lying at Weymouth pier in London after escaping from a mob that had also believed Sara to be a witch. Sara was offered refuge by a sea captain, Tom whose Brigantine was docked at the pier. He heard Sara's sobs as she lay on the pier, contemplating suicide. Sara goes aboard Tom's ship "Rigel." They set sail to France where Rembrandt happened to see Sara in a Paris cafe "Le Procope." Rembrandt is so taken by Sara's beauty he sketches her silhouette on a wall of the cafe. The cafe exists to this day. Tom and Sara then travel overland on a coach pulled by 6 horses and piloted by two Knights from the personal Guard of King Phillip of Spain. They arrive at a mysterious village "Passerelle d'orion' which means, Gateway to Orion. Sara could be either mortal, devil, or angel. She manages to always escape situations unscathed because she is favored by both elements of the Supernatural realm: good and evil. Sara falls in love with the enigmatic sea Captain. Sara also falls in love with Paul. Though both men are separated by 500 years, they may be connected to Sara. When Tom and Sara arrive at the strange town of, Passerelle d'orion they encounter an innkeeper named Joel who bears a striking resemblance to Tom's helmsman "Jackobe" who holds secrets concerning Sara and Tom. During the 17th Century and prior, all phenomena were attributed to gods, God or Satan. Science, which seems to explain many things, was far in the future. Knowledge was considered the realm of Satan. Even in the "beginning" as referenced in Genesis, Eve ate an apple from the tree of wisdom then dire consequences resulted. Destiny awaits everyone, even witches.
