Product Description

by Julia Ryan (Illustrator), Deborah Ann Dykeman (Author)

How do you live and learn when your pride is bigger than your heart...and your hurts are worn like medals? Helen Barton lives her life by her words, and they aren't always carefully selected. Her bitterness is alive and well, flourishing wherever she goes. She meets her equal the summer of 1925. If possible, Malcolm Hanover may be more cynical than she is. Is this a match made in Heaven, or something more sinister? Often, lessons are learned the hard way. Is it better to light your path with a torch of revenge and bitterness...or accept the hurts you have and seek a place to heal? The answers are there for them, if they are willing to heed them.

Author Biography

Deborah Ann Dykeman has been married for thirty-one years and has five fantastic children. At the last count, she had three wonderful sons-in-law and four grandchildren, with another one on the way. She has homeschooled her children, taught Sunday school, been an AWANA director, and works as a CNA at the local Assisted Living. She has been known to play the piano, but not well. Her love of writing began almost twenty years ago, with four books written very quickly. Her love of history was the inspiration for 'Rubyville', a series of four books. Many old towns lay silent and abandoned across the state of Kansas. Buildings stand, reflecting what they once were. The desire to remember these towns and the people that were a part of them is at the heart of these books. Deborah has moved many times over the course of her life. This has given her much to write about! She now resides in the state of Kansas in the beautiful Flint Hills region. She loves to hear from her readers, whether good or bad reviews, and always responds. Rubyville: A Place to Heal is the third in the Rubyville series.
