Product Description

by Julia Ryan (Illustrator), Deborah Ann Dykeman (Author)

Love at first sight isn't a ticket to a lifetime of happiness Evelyn Barton Hanover has always been a tomboy at heart. She is ready to graduate and leave Rubyville, exploring the unknown. Her mother, Helen, has plans for Evelyn, as well. Plans that include staying in Rubyville and marrying the capable and responsible Aaron Darby. Richard King isn't looking for anyone in particular. Yet when Evelyn turns her gaze on Richard at the Senior Prom, he is swept away and starts making plans of his own. Evelyn must decide whether to live her life as she desires, or to follow the course her mother has set. Does choosing one way have to mean losing so much? Growing up and seeking happiness with the one you love is natural. Learning to walk with God in opposition is not always easy. But it is a choice we have to make. Will these three be able to live with the choices made?

Author Biography

Deborah Ann Dykeman has been married for thirty-one years and has five fantastic children. At the last count, she had three wonderful sons-in-law and four grandchildren, with another one on the way. She has homeschooled her children, taught Sunday school, been an AWANA director, and works as a CNA at the local Assisted Living. She has been known to play the piano, but not well. Her love of writing began almost twenty years ago, with four books written very quickly. Her love of history was the inspiration for 'Rubyville', a series of four books. Many old towns lay silent and abandoned across the state of Kansas. Buildings stand, reflecting what they once were. The desire to remember these towns and the people that were a part of them is at the heart of these books. Deborah has moved many times over the course of her life. This has given her much to write about! She now resides in the state of Kansas in the beautiful Flint Hills region. She loves to hear from her readers, whether good or bad reviews, and always responds. Rubyville: A Place in My Heart is the fourth in the Rubyville series.
