Working side-by-side at the loom, grandfather and granddaughter tie colorful strands of yarn into thousands of knots. But just as the rug slowly begins to take shape, Baba falls ill.

Rose knows one thing that will make him feel better: a beautiful -- and finished! -- garden rug. But will she be able to weave the rest of the rug on her own?

Author Biography

Rashin Kheiriyeh is the author and/or illustrator of over ninety children's books around the world--and a rising star in the US. Her book The Shape of Home received three starred reviews and was praised by the New York Times as "a joyful, wildly imaginative book." She received a PhD in illustration and an MFA in graphic design from Alzahra University in Tehran, and was named a Maurice Sendak Fellow in 2017. Born in Khorramshahr, Iran, Rashin now lives in Washington, DC.
