Product Description

by Jeanne Meeks (Author)

After receiving divorce papers for her fiftieth birthday, Amy Warren tests her mettle by backpacking across the Grand Canyon. The novice hiker trained for the natural dangers of the alien landscape, but she is unfit and ill-equipped to handle a more invasive species. After stumbling upon a murder, she must outwit the stalker who is hot on her trail. She draws upon an unknown well of internal strength, courage, and wit to survive and triumph. Rim To Rim is a real page-turner.

Author Biography

Jeanne Meeks began backpacking in 2005 and hiked across the Grand Canyon before writing Rim to Rim, an adventure novel with a twist of mystery and romance. The second in the Backcountry Mystery Series, "Wolf Pack," set on Isle Royale, MI was inspired by a hiking trip to that magical island in Lake Superior. Ms. Meeks was an Outdoor Trainer for the Girl Scouts and a leader for twelve years. Her goal is to inspire young girls and older women to get out and enjoy nature. In the 1990s Ms. Meeks was committed to poetry, belonged to Poets and Other Writers, and gave poetry performances as part of that group. Her work appeared in several anthologies. She now regularly writes human-interest articles for Schoolhouse Life news magazine. She loves attending writers conventions, especially Love Is Murder in Chicago. Ms. Meeks' short story, Eternally Yours, was published in 2013 by HK Books in the UK in The Other Side-An Anthology of Fiction Talent. She recently won first place in a Midlife Collage contest with a slice-of-life short story, A Kind Word. After twenty-eight years in business, Ms. Meeks and her husband sold their security surveillance company in 2005. Ms. Meeks was recognized by the Illinois governor as the Small-Business Person of the Year. She was the Tax Collector for the township and has been the President of the Chamber of Commerce, on the board of a local bank, and on a hospital's Community Trustee Board. Ms. Meeks now writes full-time and belongs to Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and writers' groups in Illinois and Florida. When not writing, Jeanne backpacks, kayaks, entertains the grandchildren, volunteers with the local historical society, and plays tennis or golf. Married in 1969, she lives with her husband on Florida's gulf coast and in a suburb of Chicago.
