Prepare for the MCAT Critical Analysis & Reasoning Skills (CARS) section with Research Prep.'s question book. Our detailed questions and answer keys will provide you with everything you need to succeed on the MCAT CARS section. The MCAT CARS section comprises one section of the MCAT, and it covers three skill sets: Foundations of Comprehension, Reasoning Within the Text, and Reasoning Beyond the Text. The questions following each passage, within each skill set, will fall into sub-categories. These sub-categories represent the type of analysis that test takers will apply to answer each question. The questions will ask about passages that are each approximately 500 to 600 words long, and each passage will have a bank of 5 to 7 questions listed immediately thereafter. Generally, the MCAT CARS section will have 53 questions in total and 90 minutes of test time to complete the section. (The MCAT was slightly shortened and condensed during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the total time per CARS question remains the same.)
