Product Description

by Chren Byng (Author), Andrew Joyner (Illustrator)

The flock has been 'the flock' since the beginning of time, or since last Tuesday - whichever came before. When a new sheep joins the flock, he realizes that this home can be welcoming, safe and well. But what happens if a new sheep decides to leave? This is a very funny and subversive tale about bravery, independence and that first bold step away from the pack.

Author Biography

Chren Byng was born in the United States, but after a short time he moved to Australia (his mother's native country), where he grew up by the sea. In her day job as a children's book editor, Chren has edited and published best-selling and award-winning books by many of Australia's best-loved authors and illustrators. Chren aspires to have a tenth of her talent. Chren lives in Sydney with her partner and her young children. Andrew Joyner is an Australian illustrator and graphic humorist. His first book, The terrible plop, written by Ursula Dubosarsky, was shortlisted for many awards, including the 2010 CBCA (Children's Book Commission of Australia) Book of the Year and the 2010 Australian Prime Minister's Literary Awards. In 2013, Andrew illustrated El cambalache, written by Jan Ormerod, which won the 2014 CBCA Book of the Year award and has been translated into fourteen languages.
