Product Description

by Neil B. Edwards MD (Author)

My book is meant to help you develop a philosophy and attitude toward life. How do you find happiness? what is happiness, anyway? What makes successful people successful? What is success? Do you get what you deserve in life or do you deserve what you're able ot get? How do we navigate through life? How and why might we get help along the way? My book is meant to help you find for yourself the answers to these and other questions. But perhaps the crucial idea is that it's your life. The book can help and it's intended to do so. But, in the final analysis, you're it.

Neil Edwards grew up on a small farm in northeast Pennsylvania where he loved to roam. He completed his psychiatry residency at Temple University Health Science Center. His residency was interrupted by two years in the US Army. He was in Vietnam for a year serving as battalion surgeon in an eitht-inch artillery battalion. He also was the doctor for a refiugee camp nearby. For his work with the Army troops and the refugees, he received the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. After finishing his residency, he spent thirty-eight years in four academic positions at Temple, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas Houston and University of Tennessee Health Science Center. At University of Tennessee he was Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry for eighteen years. He spent approximately half his time in academic settings doing patient care and the rest teaching, doing research and doing administration.
