by Iyalosa Apetebii Olaomi Osun Akalatunde (Author)

a guide for the revolutionary education of the Afrikan child

Author Biography

Born and raised in the rural hamlet of Columbia, TN, the sixth child in a family of nine; OlaOmi has been inundated with Afrikan spiritual practices since birth. She is the descendant of a line of Native American and West Afrikan witches and learned early spell crafting at her mother's knee. She received her Bachelor's degree in English from Fisk University. She is a woman unapologetically and like all revolutionary Afrikan women, lives her life from a womb focused, Afrikan centered perspective. She relies heavily upon the womanly arts of prayer, incantation, visualization and attraction for guidance, nurturing and support. She is the proud mother of six, five daughters and one son. She has unschooled her children for 19 years and graduated two from her homeschool who went on to receive academic scholarships to the HBCU's of their choice. She is an Iyalosa, votary and avatar of the munificent mother Oshun and has been serving Her in this capacity since 1994. She is the author of two books on Orisha Worship, Ona Agbani an introductory work and S'Otito 18 Lessons in Afrikan Spirituality, both available at www.osheturainstitute.com. She offers merindilogun divinations, wholistic health consultations and unschooling/parenting consultations at www.got2boshun.com. She presents a weekly radio show every Thursday at noon on blog talk radio http: //www.blogtalkradio.com/iyalosa-oshunyemi-akalatunde and has a youtube station at http: //www.youtube.com/user/akalatunde . Her goal in this lifetime is to reform the traditions of her Ancestors so that the Earth's majority peoples can begin to fulfill their destinies.
