A thousand years in the future, the peace-loving space city known as Novo Paolo (or, Bubbleopolis) is invaded by an army of self-proclaimed "Lib?rateurs" seeking to steal the city's vast wealth and enslave its inhabitants. The defenders are clever, and merciless, killing invaders by the thousands, but the greater Intergalactic Council has vast resources, and man-power, and it looks as though finally the city will be lost, but then Doctors Hugo Galvez and Murphy show up and employ a daring gambit.
