Author Biography
Vicky Spyrou-Andriotis was born in Athens, Greece in 1968 and emigrated from there to the United States at a very young age with her parents and older brother. Through the challenges and difficulties of assimilating into their new country and culture, one thing remained constant: their faith. Their faith in God and the closeness and comfort of their church community served to ease the struggles faced by a family in a new home far away from all they knew and loved. Now, many years later, and hoping to inspire others to do the same, Mrs. Andriotis puts pen to paper and expresses that faith in her series of books: "Prayer in Poetry." Vicky Spyrou-Andriotis has also, previously published "Guidance and Inspiration for the Greek Orthodox Mother," which received 1st place in 2008 from the National Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society at the 39th Orthodox Clergy- Laity Congress in Washington, DC. In 2007, Vicky Spyrou-Andriotis Publishing released "Greek Fare," a cookbook containing popular Greek Recipes, and most recently released "The Divine Liturgy- A Simple Guide for the Common Person," which was authored by Presv. Eleftheria Recachinas. Vicky is also the author of "Prayer in Poetry," "Prayer in Poetry for the Christian Mother," "Prayer in Poetry for the Christian Teenager," "Prayer in Poetry: More Expressions of Faith," and "Prayer in Poetry for the Christian Child."
