After Paul's encounter with the risen Christ on the road to Damascus, he turned from coercion and violence to a ministry centered on the hope of Christ's resurrection. Timothy G. Gombis is professor of New Testament at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He is also the author of Paul: A Guide for the Perplexed, The Drama of Ephesians: Participating in the Triumph of God, and a commentary on Mark's Gospel in the Story of God Bible Commentary series.
