The act of prayer was central to the early Irish monastics, serving as a vital aspect of their spirituality and religious practice. The Portus na hEireann, or ""Irish Breviary,"" is a Divine Office text based on the prayers and practices used within the Columbanian tradition. It consists of a series of prayers to be used by individuals, groups, or families to be prayed during a set time. This book includes all canonical hours' prayers as established within the early Irish church with every psalm according to the Douay-Rheims Bible.
Author Biography
Dustin A. Ashley is a student at Emmanuel Christian Seminary in Johnson City, Tennessee. He is pursuing an MDiv in historical theology, specializing in the history of the early Irish church.
