Pulling a truck over for a light that had burned out, the officer notices the driver is acting strange. After backup arrives, the trailer's doors are opened, and a waft of putrid air escapes into the night. As the officers peer into the trailer, they notice, up at the front, are women hunkered trying to generate enough heat to attempt to keep warm. They barely have any clothes on, and there are no blankets to keep them warm. With the recent seizure of women in the trailer and the woman found in his hayloft, Monte is having to investigate leads that a possible human trafficking ring is operating in his jurisdiction.
