Product Description

by Stuart McKinnon (Author), Katherine Stapp (Editor), Kristian Koves (Illustrator)

Planet 9 is a science fiction novel about a planet, the size of Jupiter, orbiting our sun every 10,000 years is discovered by an amateur astronomer at Amundsen Scott South Pole station in 1965. On his way to reveal his findings, he is killed in a plane crash, along with his research. Forty years later in 2005, his daughter uncovers his personal journal detailing his findings. She picks up the quest to confirm the planet, only to uncover that it does exist and will collide with Earth in 120 years. Notifying the US government, they keep the finding secret as they prepare to colonize Mars to save the human race. The truth is forced out of the government by the leader of the Archangel gang, Viper. As a nuclear conflict ensues due to the government keeping the news secret for so long, Viper and his gang storm Cape Canaveral to save themselves on the last shuttles leaving Earth. As Earth's demise approaches, scientists are sent from Mars to observe the collision only to be in harm's way from both Viper's assault and the debris from both the moon and Earth's collisions.
