Product Description

by Ed Krinsky (Author), Casey Evans (Illustrator)

Just who are Pip and Veronica, and why is there a harmonica? In this fun children's book, Veronica lives alone. To entertain herself, she plays tunes on her harmonica. When she gets lonely, Pip the Poodle enters the picture. Ed Krinsky says, "Pip was my pet poodle. He had the habit of barking loudly whenever he heard sirens from fire engines and when I played my harmonica. I concocted the story to entertain my grandchildren while babysitting for them." He is a retired school administrator who had a thirty-five year career as a teacher, coach, counselor, and administrator in the Westbury, New York public schools. He is a graduate of Harvard College and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The author was coach of the Harvard Junior Varsity Basketball team and the freshmen baseball team at MIT, and spent summers coaching basketball in the USA, Israel, the USSR, and Egypt. He served five years as general manager of a minor league basketball team (Long Island Surf), and had seven players go on to careers in the NBA. Krinsky then spent twelve years as director of operations for the United States Basketball League. He was a scout for the Detroit Pistons and the Houston Rockets, and scouted for the Baltimore Orioles. In addition, he was an associate professor of sports management and sports marketing at both Dowling College and Adelphi University on Long Island. For the past two years, he has been assistant coach for the men's basketball team at SUNY College at Old Westbury. Publisher's website: http: //sbprabooks.com/EdKrinsky
