Steele This New York Book Festival award winner from Alex Bugaeff, founder of Readable History, features the pivotal people and events of early American history. In a series of brief, entertaining chapters, a grandfather tells his middle grade grandchildren the story of our nation's Founding. * The Pilgrims and Puritans, * Native Americans, * Slavery, * Colonial America, * The Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War, * The Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Ideal for homeschooling, the grandfather's account is true history. A twelve page Teacher Guide, available direct from the author, provides a summary of the history as well as learning activities and discussion questions. The grandchildren get to know the Super Six - Franklin, Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton, and Madison - as real people who sacrificed much to found the United States. Along the way, the grandfather answers his grandchildren's questions and challenges them to show their understanding.
