Bertha's life story includes many firsts, international recognition, an abiding love of family and a commitment to advance and improve the lives of women. Maureen Thalmann's research brings this courageous innovator to life for the modern reader.

Author Biography

Historian and author Maureen Thalmann has served on the staff of the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm and Oakland University's Meadow Brook Hall. She has been published in Michigan History Magazine, the Journal of the Michigan Historical Society and local outlets. Maureen shares the stories in history through her writing, and historic presentations.
