Their struggles, and those of their daughter Marina, fill the remaining acts of "Pericles" with misfortune and grief, as well as joy and a truly heartwarming reunion. A laudable and entertaining component of Shakespeare's collection of plays, "Pericles" was one of his most popular works during his own lifetime and continues to be performed as part of modern revivals and festivals.
