Author Biography

Maria Berlova holds two PhDs from GITIS and Stockholm University. She works as Senior Research Fellow at the State Institute of Art Studies (SIAS, Moscow). In 2018, Berlova published her book Theater of the King: Gustav III and the Formation of the Swedish National Stage in Russian.

Michael Kroetch holds a BA degree in Literature from the University of Oregon. His fiction has appeared in literary journals. His theater plays have been performed throughout the Pacific Northwest, Off-Broadway in New York City, and in Berlin, Germany. He received a fellowship from the NEA.
