Product Description

by Steve Richardson (Author), Maxine McDonald (Author), Sarah Nunnally (Illustrator)

*Award of Distinction - The Gospel Coalition 2025 Book Awards (Children's Category)

Can a baby really stop a war?
Journey by canoe into the jungles of New Guinea and discover a colorful village hidden high in the trees.
Perfect Peace Child tells the true story of how God used the Sawi people's own tradition--giving a baby to make peace--to show them that Jesus is God's Peace Child. That's when their hearts began to change.
This book invites children to see how God's love brings deep-down-forever peace anywhere in the world.

Author Biography

Steve was raised in Indonesia, where his parents took the gospel to a jungle tribe. His father's missionary classic Peace Child documents the story. Steve and his wife, Arlene, returned to Southeast Asia in 1986 to lead a network of church planting teams. Since 1999, Steve has served as president of Pioneers-USA. Over 400 Pioneers teams currently impact nearly 500 people groups worldwide. The Richardsons have four daughters and a growing number of grandchildren. Steve is also the author of Is the Commission Still Great? and Not on Board.

Maxine has had the privilege of participating in global missions in five countries. She has served with Pioneers since 2013. Maxine writes and edits books for adults and children, including Items May Have Shifted, The Most Important Story in the World, and What Christians Have Always Believed. She enjoys telling the stories of how God is building His Church among all the many peoples of the world.
Sarah Nunnally is a wife, mother, and friend of God. She is a talented graphic designer, artist, and writer who spent eight years serving amongst the beautiful people groups of Asia. She has two little ones that inspire her globally focused and colorful illustrations. Sarah desires to give young families a compassionate understanding of different cultures, a heart for the nations, and the tools to embrace their role in God's plan around the world. If she could be anywhere, she would be sipping milk tea in her neighbor's home in Kathmandu, Nepal.
