Meanwhile Anna, in Athens, has been engrossed in her painting of Pygmalion that she has not realised that her husband should have returned home ages ago. Then she gets a phone call.
Their individual circumstances become intolerable and they each need to find a way out. Neither is in search of a fresh relationship but they find themselves alone and vulnerable at a critical time. Through an exchange of e-mails they are drawn towards each other, however cultural divergencies lead to misunderstandings and withdrawal. Their lives become more chaotic as they are overwhelmed
