Product Description

by The Buffalo History Museum (Author), Amy Miller (Editor), Lynn T. Hoffman (Author)

The quilt collection of The Buffalo History Museum represents a history as rich and diverse as that of The Museum. Organized in 1862, The Museum recognized the importance of preserving the cultural legacy of the community. Quilts are part of that legacy. Many came to The Museum with some family history, at times only a name and date. Most were the generous donation of Julia Boyer Reinstein.

This publication is being reissued in conjunction with the current Quilts: Techniques & Styles exhibit, on display 2015-2017.

Author Biography

Since 1862, The Buffalo History Museum (formerly known as the Buffalo and County Historical Society) has been Western New York's premier historical organization, serving to collect, research, interpret, and share the Niagara Frontier's rich history. Its collections include more than 100,000 artifacts, 200,000 photographs, and 20,000 books.
