Y luego en los capítulos siguientes, seguir una secuencia lógica pero motivadora y practica del ministerio pastoral "según el corazón de Dios" que debe culminar en un futuro esperanzador y una mayor intimidad personal con Dios.
Para hacer ese camino recurre a lo que cree son los atributos claves. Esos elementos claves son para el autor:
- la misericordia como norma en el camino,
- el amor con motor para andar
- la palabra de Dios como fuente de inspiración e
- Cristo como el fundamento donde poner la mirada
- y el Espíritu Santo como la fuerza diaria
- el ejemplo personal como la herramienta principal a la hora de enseñar y conseguir resultados en el día a día
Un libro inspirador para cuantos ejercen el ministerio, sobre todo el ministerio pastoral, pero útil para cuantos sirven al Señor.
Pastors according to the Heart of God
José María Baena Acebal in the book Pastors according to the heart of God approaches the deep spiritual character of such a privileged mission as pastoring God's church. In order to do so, he enters into the heart or the most intimate content of the ministry, going into the need to seek and cultivate intimacy with God, an area that every pastor must develop and maintain, for the good exercise of his ministry. The title is an express reference to the text of Jeremiah 3:15, "I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding".
The book begins by explaining the literary expression and reference to the "heart of God", to refer to that intimate and profound part, to the most intimate 'secrets' of his being. And then in the following chapters, he follows a logical but motivating and practical sequence of pastoral ministry "according to the heart of God" that should culminate in a hopeful future and greater personal intimacy with God.
To make this journey he resorts to what he believes are the key attributes. For the author, these key elements are
- mercy as the norm on the way,
- love as the driving force for the journey
- the word of God as a source of inspiration and
- Christ as the foundation on which to look, and the Holy Spirit as the daily and the Holy Spirit as the daily strength
- personal example as the main tool for teaching and achieving results daily.
An inspiring book for those in ministry, especially pastoral ministry, but useful for those who serve the Lord.
