Author Biography

Deidre Ann Tyler is Professor of Sociology at Salt Lake Community College and Adjunct Professor at the University of Utah. Professor Tyler holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Mississippi State University. She divides her time among teaching, writing, and lecturing around the world. She is also one of the premier motivational speakers in the country. She is a frequent lecturer and performer at college campuses and has a one-woman show entitled "African American Women of the West." Tyler can be reached at this e-mail DeidreT141@aol.com.
