This compilation of 'Nursery Tales' further comprises a series of dazzling illustrations by Paul Vincent Woodroffe (1875 - 1954). He was a much celebrated book illustrator as well as a prolific stained glass artist who studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in Bloomsbury, London. Part of the true British 'golden age', Woodroffe's artistry still delights both young and old over a century later. Appearing alongside the text, his illustrations further refine and elucidate Steedman's carefully collated anthology.
