Product Description

by Roma Dhingra (Author)

Author Biography

Roma Dhingra is curious about the world and its people. Her stories reveal the challenges, fun, and unfamiliar territory a world traveler encounters. She began her travels by exploring her own birth country, India, a place as diverse as its many geographical regions. Indians practice various religions, speak 18 major languages, follow different customs, and eat a variety of foods. Roma learned and grew from those early travels. Since then she has visited every continent in the world except Antarctica, which she plans to do soon. She has traveled by train, plane, bus, car, rickshaw, horse carriage, and even a bullock cart. She became adept at observing and describing the unexpected and unusual. She points out the similarities and the differences among peoples around the world. Roma illustrates that it is the differences that make the world and help us increase our understanding of the people of the Earth. And it is in the similarities that we see a common thread -- a connection. Not everyone can travel the world, but Roma hopes that in these stories the reader will gain both an understanding of other cultures and an appreciation for the uniqueness of their own.
