Product Description

by Keith Sam (Author)

Do you want to find strength to survive and prosper after narcissistic abuse?

Would you like to disarm the narcissist, take control of your life and learn how to recover from a toxic relationship?

If yes, then keep reading...

Since it is a disorder and NPD is not normal, you may wonder why it exists in the first place. There is no exact cause for NPD that has been determined yet. There are various factors that contribute to it and may lead to the development of this disorder in any individual. It can be genetic or develop due to various experiences the individual has gone through. Psychological factors contribute to it in a major way. The causes of NPD are a complex matter, just like the causes of any other mental health disorders.

It is linked to:

  • The environment: Usually, parent-child relationships that are not healthy.
  • Genetics: Inherited characteristics. Abnormalities in genes can cause symptoms of NPD.
  • Neurobiology: Link between the brain with a person's thought process and behavior. When there is an abnormality in this connection, then it can cause issues.

At a certain point, most psychologists assumed that the main cause of narcissism was parents who failed to provide their children with the right kind of love and attention. However, now they know that it is much more complex than that, and there are many other possible reasons for it.

Studies show that NPD and narcissism, in general, are more common in men when compared to women. This tendency to behave narcissistically usually begins in the teenage years but not always. When you observe children, you may notice certain narcissistic tendencies. However, it is not usually a serious cause for concern and is just something that people go through at that age. For instance, a child will assume that every small achievement is a very big deal. This is normal and not something to worry about. Age appropriate narcissism is what parents may encourage and allow their child to indulge in. It is not necessary that a narcissistic child continue to behave the same way, as they grow older. You have to be more careful when this pattern of behavior continues into young adulthood or their teenage years. They need to be taught how to accept failures graciously and learn that they cannot always be right.

A small child will tend to be quite selfish because they have not developed completely yet and struggle to get their needs met. At that young age, they don't completely understand what other people may want or need. Even as they grow a little older and step into their teenage years, it is commonly seen that teenagers are selfish.

In this book we will discuss the following topics:

  • What is Narcissism?
  • Scoring Narcissistic Traits
  • Healthy and Extreme Narcissism
  • Real Narcissistic People
