Product Description

by Mrinal Khaund (Author)

This work of fictionalized memoir is based on the true experiences of a person who was stricken with a mental disorder while serving as an officer of the government. He tried hard to conform to a normal life but ran into tremendous hardships as he could see life events only through a lens where the demarcation between reality and delusion was a blur. The narrative is from a remote part of India, the state of Assam bordering Bangladesh. In a tumulus period from around 1950 to the end of the millennium, India was trying to establish a national identity of its own after the long British rule but faced numerous unresolved political, religious and social issues with the neighboring countries, especially in the bordering states like Assam. In the process tragic dislocations of lives at various layers of the society were widespread.
