Nena's humor and modesty about her own merits made her very sociable, despite her introverted nature. As a teacher, Nena played an enthusiastic extroverted role with passion and compassion at public and private schools from 1970 to 2015. She shared terminology and tips with anyone interested, freely. Nena was known as Ms. Nena to her Montessori students, and Mrs. Stowell to her Art students. Montessori and Art are two different systems, yet they have some overlap and similarities which Nena realized in her own way.
