On October 20, 2006, my spiritual awakening began with the sudden and unexpected death of my twenty-five-year-old daughter, Jessica "Celeste" Thompson. God had to take me to a place of "my little girl spiritual self." It was there in that space and at that time that God began His new work in me. A work that brought healing to my soul through the transforming power of Jesus over a fifteen-year process. He revealed to me how He lovingly and intentionally pursued me to rescue a lifetime of my crushed, searching, and wandering soul.
For the first time in my life I am walking into my spiritual voice, a language once foreign to me. God is continually guiding me into this ever-evolving, growing understanding of my intimate spiritual relationship with His Son. His Spirit is caring for me, nurturing me, and healing my heart and soul. Even though my earthly father failed me, he was in God's perfect plan for me. Where my earthly dad was instrumental in Satan's attempt to keep me in darkness. My Heavenly Father interceded for me with love, grace, and mercy. Dear Lord Jesus, I give you my life. I invite you to have your way in me. Take me and break me. Shake me and make me. Fill me and spill me. Change me and rearrange me. But whatever you do, Lord, don't leave me the same. Spirit of wisdom and revelation, I welcome your work. Open my eyes so I can see those things of value and purpose to you. Open my ears so I can hear your whispers. I choose truth over comfort, challenge over complacency. Lord, make me forever Yours. And most of all, make me like You. Amen! I love you, Your Daughter
