Author Biography

Nichola McAuliffe is an award-winning actress most recently seen as Wallis Simpson in Untitled, Katisha in the Mikado, Miss Shepard in The Lady in the Van and as Madame Aldonza in Stephen Frears' film Cheri. On television she is best known as Sheila Sabatini in Surgical Spirit. Her play A British Subject is based on the real-life story of how her husband, investigative journalist Don Mackay, became the first journalist to interview Mirza Tahir Hussain during his time on death row in Pakistan. A British Subject has played around the world and has received a plethora of 4- and 5-star reviews.
