See Haiti through the eyes of an orphan. Haiti has been called the "Pearl of the Antilles" for its beauty. It is also known as the land of a million orphans. Orphanage life is all Maneeya has ever known. When her best friend offers her the chance to escape, she goes, with hopes for a bright future. On the unforgiving streets of Port-au-Prince, Maneeya learns how the beauty of Haiti can co-exist with devastation, and that the map to get home is already etched on each of our hearts. Inspired by her insightful visits to Haitian schools and orphanages following the 2010 earthquake, author and international speaker Kimberly Soesbee brings to life the physical and spiritual battles that Haitians endure through the touching and tragic journey of Maneeya.
